How it started and how it's going
September 2020
Vianney was working in the aviation sector.
Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic COVID-19, he had to move on and suddenly found himself having a lot of "free time".
October 2020
Living in the beautiful Lavender Bay in Sydney's Lower North Shore, he decided to buy a kayak to reset his priorities, plan for the future and enjoy some relaxing time during a very stressful period.
Very quickly, he started to provide his kayak (in exchange of a very low rental fee) to some adventurous "Backpackers" wiling to discover our incredible city from a different angle.
January 2021
Vianney has finally managed to secure a Management Consultant role at Collagis, an Australian Management Consulting firm.
During this time, Vianney was still providing his kayaks to many backpackers stuck in Australia and looking to do a fun and safe activity.
June 2021
Vianney has advertised the activity within the lower north shore community and had such a wonderful success with many taking the opportunity to give it a try, especially during Sydney longest COVID-19 lockdown.
He bought a second kayak so people could go with a friend/partner.
July 2022
Vianney has decided to buy a third kayak to provide private guided session around the Opera House and Harbour Bridge during the sunrise and sunset, a truly magical experience!
August 2022
Vianney has registered the community business, now named Lavender Bay Kayaking.
Lavender bay kayaking is a community kayaking experience.
We do not have a fix price for any session, we do understand that every person has different situation and we'd rather let our brilliant paddlers giving what they think their experience was worth!
